Assessment

An initial assessment will usually last 60 to 90 minutes in your own home, or location of your choice.

We will take a brief history of your condition and current situation and discuss what your hopes for physiotherapy are.

It can be helpful to have a family member present during your appointment.

Appointments are a confidential, safe space. Any issue you may have, please bring it up with us and we will do what we can to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

Treatment

After your assessment, we will discuss findings and agree a plan with you about your therapy goals and ongoing treatment.

Treatment can be varied depending on the presentation but can include a tailored exercise programme, hands on therapy for example to assist with walking re-education or use of devices such as neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES).

Frequency of sessions can be as often as 3-4 times per week, or sporadically with support to self-manage.
